BIO

Dr. William Probasco, MD is an orthopedic surgeon and specialist in foot and ankle conditions in Fairfield Connecticut with the Orthopaedic Specialty Group, PC. He treats patients ranging from elite athletes to active seniors, with conditions stemming from sports injuries, trauma, degenerative conditions, and deformity.

Dr. Probasco believes in providing each of his patients with a clear explanation of their condition so he can work with the patient to develop a treatment plan that best fits their lifestyle and activity goals. He utilizes both non-surgical, and surgical (including minimally invasive) treatment options, drawing from his specialized experience in new and state of the art techniques to achieve pain relief and improved mobility. Some conditions can be treated conservatively and effectively with appropriate use of non-operative bracing and physical therapy.

For conditions needing surgical treatment, Dr. Probasco is among an exclusive group of orthopedic surgeons who trained at the world-renowned Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center, and he can offer specialized treatment options like minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery, as well as total ankle replacement. He specializes in treating a variety of both simple and complex foot and ankle conditions, including, but not limited to:

  • Arthritis
  • Ankle replacement
  • Minimally invasive surgery including bunion and hammertoe correction
  • Tendon disorders
  • Deformity
  • Trauma and fractures
  • Sports injuries
  • Diabetic foot conditions

Dr. Probasco is a proud University of Pennsylvania alum where he rowed varsity heavyweight crew. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, rowing, fishing, and cooking.
