Dr. Backe and Dr. Richer are subspecialty upper-extremity trained physicians who have earned the prestigious “Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery”. They are leaders in operative and non-operative care of disorders that affect hand, wrist and elbow function in adults and children. The hand team includes Certified Hand Therapists to assist in the rehabilitation process. Their patients include high school, college, and professional athletes. They are consultants to the Connecticut State Worker’s Compensation Commissioner. From complex trauma care to carpal tunnel syndrome, workman’s compensation to sports related injuries, their goal is to help patients return to normal, healthy, and active lifestyles.
