Human Resource Generalist

Orthopaedic Specialty Group, P.C., is actively seeking a FT Human Resource Generalist.

Summary/Objective

The Human Resource Generalist provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resource Director.  Qualified candidates should possess outstanding communication skills, be a conceptual thinker with excellent organizational, problem solving and conflict management skills.  Applicants for this position must exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, Connecticut employment regulations and laws, as well as staffing management and training.  Generalist will assist with additional administrative tasks including benefits, payroll, new hire orientation training, Affordable Care Act research and reporting.

Job Description

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Make recommendations for talent acquisition
  • Schedules new-employee orientations and sends employment agreement letters to new hires, as well as thank you letters to all interviewed applicants
  • Identify and recommend strategies to motivate and cultivate employees (Employee engagement)
  • Develops and maintains EEO-1 and EEOC Component 2 reports annually; as well as all other annual reporting IE:  Affordable Care Act, etc…
  • Assesses and makes recommendations to HR Director for new/updated policies and procedures.
  • Maintains human resource information system (HRIS) records and compiles reports from the database as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment and labor postings.

Competencies

  • 3-5 years HR Generalist experience is required
  • Knowledge of HR functions and best practices
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems
  • Ability to listen, assess and problem solve
  • A willingness to learn and grown within the role
  • Maintain an ethical and professional manner at all times
  • Confidentiality an absolute must
