Bio

Dr. FitzGibbons is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine Arthroscopy/Minimally Invasive Surgery and Joint Replacement. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois \ Evanston, Illinois. I decided late in High School that I wanted to become a doctor. My father was a doctor, which gave me great exposure to the profession. I have always enjoyed “Fixing things”, and what better that fixing the human body.

Throughout his Orthopaedic training, Dr. FitzGibbons has been able to work as a team physician with multiple professional and collegiate teams: The Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, and Northwestern University. The New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, New England Revolution, Harvard Athletics.

Operative Day – Perform Orthopaedic surgical procedures that had been worked up as noted above in the office setting that required surgical intervention for their particular conditions.

Dr. FitzGibbons favorite part about his job is working with the many great people/families/co-workers he comes across in the course of his practice, and ultimately helping out patients to a more comfortable physical and mental lifestyle.

Hobbies that he enjoys outside of work are family activities, sports – both as a participant and a fan, including following his kid’s sporting events/careers, outdoor activities involving mother nature, wildlife and technology.

One piece of advice for aspiring doctors is one should have a keen interest/passion in the human body and how it works to become a great doctor. The human body is the most amazing entity they will ever come across, and if the interest is tremendous than acquiring the voluminous knowledge necessary to become a doctor is less daunting. The time commitment and dedication is substantial, but the fulfillment and gratification of this caring profession is a rewarding career.

New technology in Dr. FitzGibbons area of expertise that he is most excited about is the continued arthroscopic advancements, allowing for less invasive techniques in caring for orthopaedic injuries and conditions. Utilizing existing technologies (MRI, CT scans) to further customize / template to more accurately care for the variety of Orthopaedic conditions.
